The 2011 Chevy Camaro Convertible - V8 only in the UK
It’s been a few years in the making, but Chevrolet has finally taken the wraps off the convertible version of the latest Chevy Camaro ahead of its debut at the LA Motor Show next week. The Chevrolet Camaro Convertible – although no one will call it anything other than the Camaro Convertible, or maybe Chevy Camaro Convertible – goes in to production in January and will arrive in the UK and Europe in 2011. GM claim that the work they’ve done to make the Camaro work as a soft top has resulted in a car that has better torisonal rigidity than a 3-Series Covertible, thanks to stuff like a tower-to-tower brace under the hood, a transmission support reinforcement brace.
This Friday video goodness features a white 2012 COPO Camaro Stock Eliminator Concept on the drag strip. As Autoweek contributor Patrick Paternie explained during the SEMA show, the new COPO (Central Office Production Order) nameplate pays homage to the rare high-powered 1969 Camaros created through a loophole in the special-order program. This enabled dealers to specify a 427 engine--COPO 9560, the aluminum ZL1, or COPO 9561, the Corvette-based L72 iron block--despite the Camaro technically being limited to the 396-cubic-inch powerplant.
The Reva NXG which has been revealed at Frankfurt
The Reva NXR is the proper launch and will be available to order straight away with delivery starting in early 2010. The styling is still pretty unconvincing, but for a small city EV it’s probably acceptable. The NXR is a three-door, four seat hatchback with a range of around 100 miles per charge and a top speed of 65mph.
